About the Hideaway
The Moosebeck Estate is a secluded, family-owned hideaway located only 100 miles from Grand Central Station. A quiet country road winding along the Stoddard Mill Creek leads you to this 300-acre property. Deerfield Cottage is a caretaker's residence situated alongside a luxury in-ground heated pool and spa. The cottage is available for weekday or weekend rental. It has two bedrooms and a futon, sleeping a total of six.
Guests have exclusive use and enjoyment of the heated pool and spa with a large adjoining stone patio for grilling, dining, and relaxation. There are beautiful gardens and a unique stone tea house for reading, meditation, or merlot. Miles of hiking trails and a trout stream bring you closer to the abundant wildlife. Satellite television and XM music, wireless internet service, CD and DVD players are available for your convenience. Bring your bike and explore back country roads.
Winter guests stay cozy in the cottage while watching the flames in the gas fireplace. Outdoor activities include snowshoeing on private trails (snowshoes are provided), sitting by the outdoor fire pit toasting marshmallows, and gazing at the stars that illuminate the dark stillness of the country night.
Local activities include: 2 golf courses, horseback riding, novice downhill skiing, snow tubing and ice skating, harness racing and gaming in nearby Monticello. Shopping and movies are within 1/2 hour of the cottage.
Pet policy: Cats and dogs are welcome, and they have a great time!
